Like Brothers Pictures

Like Brothers Pictures is a production company built on the belief that childhood dreams shouldn’t be ignored. Founders Matthew Palmer & Brian Gagliardi met in high school and quickly became friends after realizing their shared love for Fargo (the movie, not the town) and the San Francisco Giants. barely driving age, they talked constantly about their dream of making movies together.

Now, almost fifteen years later, that’s exactly what they do.

Brian may claim that his driving skills have gotten better and Matthew might declare that his jump shot has improved, but, otherwise, not much has changed since their days in high school. the two friends still hang out all the time and talk to each other far too often.

Fortunately, they’re like brothers, so it’s all good.

Brian is a lifelong storyteller utilizing whichever medium best fits a given project — whether that be film, photography, podcasting, or writing.

He started experimenting with film in middle school when he realized he could create videos of himself and his friends cliff-jumping (long before GoPros were around). He credits Kurt Vonnegut, The Talking Heads, and Michael Haneke as his biggest creative inspirations.

If he wasn’t a filmmaker he would be working at Blockbuster….Yikes.

Matthew fell in love with film as a twelve-year-old when he saw Fargo for the first time. He has been filming things ever since and some of the resulting pieces have won awards. He has been featured as part of the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors Showcase at Cannes, was named a Shots Rising Star, and has received six Vimeo Staff Picks. He is grateful for all of the above, as well as his dog, NBA basketball, good books, and hot tubs.

He went to NYU and works in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
